The pledge
One small commitment.
A more human workplace doesn’t start with a policy. It starts with the words you choose. When you sign, you’re pledging to:
Call people people. Not resources, not headcount, not FTEs. By signing you commit to using the language that matters, even when those around aren’t. It may seem subtle but it’s impactful and it will make a difference.
Challenge the system, kindly, where you feel safe to. No lectures. Just a gentle nudge that people is the best term to use. We recognise this can be tough so it’s OK to pick your battles. Remember this is about the system and not individuals, so if you judge that calling out the boss might not be the right thing in that moment, that’s fine. The revolution is quietly subversive.
Lead with a little more compassion than yesterday, wherever you sit in the org chart or hierarchy. Connect with your colleagues as whole people, treat them kindly and enjoy being human together.
Count me in. I'm a person, not a resource.
Count me in. I'm a person, not a resource.
Wear it with (mild) pride.
Every signature comes with a badge you can share to spread the word. If you’re really committed, add it to your LinkedIn, or stick it in your email signature. A small action, slightly subversive, that lets everyone where you stand.
